Our Services

Who can receive services?

Simply put, everyone.

We will not discriminate against any individual or group because of race, color, sex, religion, age, national origin, marital status, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, height, weight, or the ability to pay for services. Services are usually provided in English. If you do not speak English, or if you have special communication requirements, please tell us. We will accommodate your needs.

You will not be denied services if you cannot pay. If your services are not totally covered by insurance, your cost will be based on your income. Medicaid is accepted; private insurance is welcome. If you feel that your ability to pay has changed, ask for a review. Please bring your insurance card(s) to each appointment.

Recipient Rights

If you have concerns about your plan and treatment, contact the mental health staff who works with you and explain your concern.

If your problem is not taken care of, contact the supervisor of the mental health staff person who works with you.

If your problem is still not taken care of, contact the director of the program in which you are being served.

You also have these options, which must be done in writing:

  • If you are denied services, you may request a second opinion;
  • If you are concerned about the services you are receiving, you may request "local dispute/grievance resolution";
  • You may file a Family Support Subsidy Appeal if your subsidy has ended;
  • You may file a Recipient Rights complaint;
  • You may request mediation; and
  • You may request an administrative hearing with Michigan Department of Community Health, if you have Medicaid.

You can contact a customer services representative or our recipient rights officer at 616-527-1790 for assistance with any of the options listed above.

Per the Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), all consumers must be made aware of their rights concerning the confidentiality, use, and disclosure of their health information. Services and Supports

Ionia County Community Mental Health is here to serve your needs in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities and co-occurring substance abuse care. We have a strong commitment to serving you and want you to be completely satisfied with the care that you receive.
Before services can be started, you will take part in an assessment to find out if you are eligible for services. It will also identify the services that can best meet your needs. If we are unable to provide services for you we will assist you in finding other community resources to meet your needs.

During the person-centered/family-centered/treatment planning process, you will be helped to figure out the medically necessary services that you need and the sufficient amount, scope and duration required to achieve the purpose of those services.  You will also be able to choose who provides your supports and services. You will receive an individual plan of service that provides all of this information.
